Was speaking at Washington Society of CPAs Pacific Tax Conference and had nerves 😊 and really enjoyed it.
Every speaking event is different and I learn new things. Here are my quick tips for your next presentation:
1) Repeat back questions from the audience so everyone hears and it gives you time to come up with a really good answer.
2) When going on stage, take off your name badge. Put it back on for networking.
3) Refer to your notes if needed. I make a point of doing it. Helps me relax and be more conversational.
4) Be early, meet the attendees, and ask them what’s top of mind about your topic.
5) After your talk, hang around and be visible so people can ask you questions.
