Here are 3 insights that might help you with your decisions.
How do you communicate decisions to VPs and the Board?
Use the insight sandwich 🥪:
1) Open with your insight, decision, or proposal.
2) Share the data and key points to back up your insight and decision.
3) Close by repeating your insight and decision.
How do you find time for new strategic projects while running operations and keeping the lights on?
This is a common challenge and keeping the lights on is a priority. However, you need to carve out time for strategic projects. I like using the 60/30/10 split:
60% of your time on operations, delivering, and running the business.
30% people, connecting, leadership.
10% strategic planning, deep work, big changes.
How do you know which decisions are most important?
All businesses are concerned with 3 problems:
A) How do we grow revenue?
B) How do we improve efficiency?
C) How do we reduce risk?
All your decisions need to solve one or more of these problems.
How do you make better decisions?
